Where an unrepentant geek talks about Battlestar Galactica & Life • Est. 2009

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

For the last two Tuesday nights, when Caprica should have aired here in the U.S., the show’s fans have been tweeting up a storm #SaveCaprica in an effort to trend and show SyFy the show is being watched no matter what the Nielsen ratings indicate.

I’m asking all Caprica and science fiction/fantasy fans to stand up and be counted for one of the best original series on TV and send a message to a network that has forsaken its core audience in favor of the pro-wrestling crowd — no kidding.

If you like Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Stargate, or any other incarnation of sci-fi or fantasy, please stand up and be counted. Tweet at any time, or join us next Tuesday night from 9-10 p.m. Central to call for Caprica’s resurrection. This is an intelligent and relevant series that needs to be saved.

If you’re wondering why you should care, I think @Dora0417 says it fairly well:

Those who aren’t fans of #Caprica (yet) may ask the question why should they give a frak about what happens to this show. Might say, “not OUR problem”. Well, here’s your answer. What’s not your problem today, can easily turn out to be your problem tomorrow if execs always have their way. If you help us #SaveCaprica today, you’ll help save your favourites tomorrow. And at least this fan will not forget that you helped her cause yesterday. So let this be a shoutout to literally everyone who reads this forum: #SaveCaprica for Your better tomorrow! So the apparent trend of cutting intelligent, thought provoking, smart and cunning television could be stopped. Remember: today, you might get off the hook but don’t be so sure of that tomorrow. Join us to #SaveCaprica ! So Say We All!

Tweeting about a television show is pointless. It will accomplish exactly nothing.
