For about four years, I’ve been looking for a watch to buy, nothing special really, but just something that “fit” me, and I came up with absolutely nothing. I looked at all kinds but not one appealed to me enough to spend money on it.
Then I found one with a Battlestar Galactica connection and it became an instant “must have.”

I found a website that identified one of the prop watches on the show as the Nixon Scout (note the logo on the wristband), so I looked it up at Nixon’s site and found The Scout. I ordered it even though I’m not a huge fan of Lee Adama/Apollo — I like Papadama– and I have to say I love it. It’s a nice, heavy watch, well-made and with the BSG tie-in, I’m finally a happy camper.
On another note, the same site indicated that the watch used by the pilots when in flightsuit is a modified version of the Nixon watch called The Dork. I may have get one of these one day, too.
Just because I’m an unrepentant geek.
Yes, I'll admit it. I love Battlestar Galactica, Dune, Star Trek, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Macs, iPods, NASA, Wii, Xbox ... and about a dozen other things that 
qualify me for geek status. Oh, and then there's my love for all things Longhorn and the NFL...
