Actually, I've been musing lately about what would happen if people were to write-in Laura Roslin as their presidential candidate. There has also been a series of Dune prequels written by Herbert's son, Brian, and Kevin J. Anderson, and while decent enough books, they don't hold a candle to the originals. Frank Herbert's voice is too distinct and is sorely missed in those books and the final (Dune 7) of the original book series, which was written from Frank's notes and published in two volumes - Hunters of Dune & Sandworms of Dune.
